Mission

"A little sincerity is a dangerous thing, and a great deal of it is absolutely fatal"
-Oscar Wilde

In today's sound-bite world, where the internet, television programs, or - less frequently - newspapers, are the primary sources of information, all too often comprehensive discourse is lost and, with it, the opportunity to foment meaningful conversation.  Nowhere is this more apparent than on controversial issues, such as diversity.  Thus, this blog was founded to foster discussion and debate on contemporary events, whether in the news, academia, or in the courtroom, that are relevant to defining and addressing diversity in the 21st century.

This blog is created in the spirit of the salons of France during the Enlightenment.  It is a forum in which people can gather to discuss issues relevant to diversity today and, in doing so, to increase their own personal knowledge, to become more enlightened, and to think more critically of information to which they are exposed.  Contributors to this blog come from varied disciplines, including law, statistics, and psychology.  All of us welcome questions, comments, and a discourse of reason.
